Dr. Chris Callewaert is senior research fellow at Ghent University, Belgium. He studies the skin microbiome and metabolome in health and disease. He is a pioneer in skin microbiome transplantation and skin bacteriotherapy to treat body odor. He studies indigenous populations in various remote locations and had the pleasure to visit the Yanomami hunter-gatherers in Brazil. In the corona pandemic, he also trained sniffer dogs to detect COVID19 infection from people’s sweat, with >95% accuracy.
