Interest of a specific dermo-cosmetic product in the management of damaged hands with micro-fissures and cracks

32 subjects completed the study  (41 years on average, 74% women), all with dry skin, mainly phototype II (58%) and sensitive skin (97%). Scaling, roughness, redness, and cracks significantly decreased from D7 and down to -53%, -56%, -52% and -72%, respectively at D28 vs D0. Also, tightness, tingling, itching, burning significantly decreased at D28 by -93%, -79%, -87% and -96%, respectively vs  D0. A significant reduction was also observed at D7 for TEWL, and crack length followed by a gradual decrease until D28 with -29% and -6%, respectively vs D0. In addition, the subjects were very satisfied (97%: penetrated quickly; 87%: left a protective barrier on the skin; 90%: without greasy and sticky sensation). No product-related adverse reactions was reported.

This study demonstrated that this specific dermo-cosmetic product efficiently promotes skin repair, protects, and relieves the discomfort feelings of the damaged hands. This product is relevant in the management in hand irritant contact dermatitis for domestic and professional use.
