Preventing side effects of acne treatments thanks to two specific dermo-cosmetic products

The majority of subjects under keratolytic treatment presented a moderate acne (69.8%) and those under isotretinoin presented severe acne (61.2%). Dryness was not exacerbated in both groups and even decreased significantly at D28 with the product S (-33.3%). Similarly, the following criteria were not worsened, and even decreased significantly after 28 days: redness (S: -50.0%; H: -18.8%), burning sensations (-40.0% for both) and tingling sensation (S: -66.7%; H: -46.2%). The subjects evaluated a soothing effect for both products showing a significant increase between D1 and D28 (+33.3% for both), and a significant moisturizing effect (S: +31.3%; H: +19.0%).  Overall efficacy was rated good to excellent for 75.2% and 80.0% of subjects with product S and product H, respectively.  Both products in association with the corresponding treatment showed good tolerance.

By preventing skin side effects induced by keratolytic and isotretinoin treatment, these two dermo-cosmetic products could increase patients’ compliance to their medical treatment and so their efficacy.
